Service Description

Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) uses a 2 channel microcurrent device to deliver electrical frequencies and current in millionths of an amp and have been shown in published studies to increase energy (ATP) production in cells by 500%. FSM uses the principles of biophysics and the effects of biological resonance and frequencies to change cell signaling, and thereby change cell function and even structures, such as scar tissue, to reduce pain and improve function. The frequencies seem to improve healing from physical and emotional injuries, resolve nerve pain, phantom limb pain, muscle, joint, neck and low back pain, fibromyalgia, shingles and inflammatory conditions such as irritable bowel, asthma and chronic fatigue, and improve aging skin. FSM is not used to treat active infections or cancer or any potentially fatal condition. Treatment includes testing to see which currents are well tolerated and effective for each individual, then applying the specific frequencies to the body through electrodes. Depending on the tissue and condition, clients will either be reclined during treatment or participating in therapeutic activities. There is typically no sensation during treatment other than being relaxed or sleepy. Treatment time depends on the length and number of protocols. Contraindications include pregnancy, cardiac pacemakers, implanted electrostimulators, and seizure disorders. Medical and osteopathic physicians in the US and the UK were experimenting with electrical therapies and frequencies in the late 1800’s. By 1922 thousands of physicians were using frequency devices to treat a great number of conditions. But the FDA backed pharmaceutical industry had grown and become politically powerful by 1920. Electromagnetic therapies, homeopathy, herbs and nutritional therapies were dismissed as fraudulent, the physicians were persecuted and some were even jailed. The devices and the frequency lists were put into the storage rooms of clinics or discarded. All of the development, research and outcomes were lost, until British osteopath Harry Van Gelder bought a practice in 1946. He found a stored device built in 1922, along with the list of frequencies and began using them and the device as a way of treating patients. He became well known all across Canada and the US because of his success in treating all kinds of very difficult illnesses, reviving the use of these currents and the development of more sophisticated microcurrent devices.
